Kwin
Kwin is the KDE Window manager. It is dependent on KDE and KDE is very dependent on it. It has gone through three revisions.

Kwin_III is the latest version of Kwin. It debuted in KDE 3.2 and has improved support for the extended icccm standards from freedesktop.org
Kwin_I
Kwin_I was actually known as kwm, and was part of the KDE 1.x seriesKwin_II
Kwin_I was the second version of Kwin. It came with KDE 2.0. It was a major improvement over Kwin I. Most notable was its extended support for themes and window effecsKwin_III
Look and feel
Kwin has a large range of Look and feels. There are currently over 100 styles for it. Some popular look and feels include Keramik (default since KDE 3.1), Redmond (Windows 95/98/2000 style), and Plastik (Popular theme that debuted in KDE 3.2)
