Kristianstad

Kristianstad is a Municipality in Skåne County, in southern Sweden. The town is the seat of the Skåne Regional Council and the regional parliament of this evolved County Council. The municipality has a population of 75,241 and some 150,000 live in the surrounding area. The city was founded in 1604 and is named after its founder, the Danish king Christian IV (Christian 4). Helgeå runs through the city.

Absolut Vodka, owned by V&S Group, is produced by the town of Åhus, which is located in the municipality.
