Kortrijk
Kortrijk (
Courtrai in
French) is a
municipality located in
Flanders, the main autonomous state of
Belgium and in the
Flemish province of
West Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Kortrijk proper and the towns of Aalbeke, Bellegem, Bissegem, Heule, Kooigem, Marke and Rollegem. On January 1st, 2000 Kortrijk had a total population of 74,790 (36,537 males and 38,253 females). The total area is 80.80
km² which gives a
population density of 925.62 inhabitants per km².
