Kde domov muj
Kde domov můj? (Where is My Home?) is the national anthem of the Czech Republic. It has been used since independence in 1993.
In the old Czechoslovakia, this song formed the first part of the national anthem, with the Slovak anthem forming the second part.
It was written by the composer Frantisek Skroup and the dramatist Josef Kajetan Tyl as a part of the comedy Fidlovačka aneb ÃÂÃÂÃÂádnÃÂý hněv a ÃÂÃÂÃÂádnÃÂá rvačka (Fidlovačka, or no anger and no rough stuff). It was performed for the first time in the StavovskÃÂé Divadlo theatre in Prague on December 21, 1831.
