Julia Margaret Cameron

For thoughtful child sponsors
Julia Margaret Cameron (June 11 1815 - January 26 1879) was an English photographic pioneer. She became known for her portraits of celebrities of the time, and for Arthurian and similiar legendary themed pictures.

Her portaits usually have a dreamlike Pre-Raphaelite quality. They are thought to be among the most beautiful of early photographers combining artistic merit with atmosphere.

Despite the fact that some felt her pictures have some technical imperfections, her work is considered as significant in photographic history.

Her house, Dimbola Lodge, on the Isle of Wight can still be visited today.
