John Chatman (1915-1988) was a blues pianist who performed under the names Memphis Slim and Peter Chatman. He composed the blues standard "Every Day I Have the Blues".

Peter Chatman was the performance name used early in his career; Peter was his father's name. Although John Chatman performed under the name Memphis Slim for most of his career, he continued to publish songs under the name Peter Chatman.
