Dr James Martin is author of over a hundred books, some of these self-promoting in character. He has written extensively on his computer systems design methodology Information Engineering and also on CASE, of which some say he is the father. He was an early promoter of fourth-generation programming languages. His firm James Martin Associates has metamorphised into the Headstrong consultancy. He has advised the USA and UK governments on IT issues. Lately he is investigating environmental issues.
