Hyperventilation
In physiology hyperventilation can mean the following:- Hyperventilation is a state of decreased ratio of carbon dioxide production to alveolar respiration.
- Hyperventilation is a physical action characterized by increased release of a substance. The term is usually applied to a biological response to stress within the lungs of a living animal.
- It often refers to attacks of the hyperventilation syndrome, characterized by deep breathing, chest pain, and altered sensations of the fingers and lips.
