Hot Topic
Hot Topic is an American store chain aimed at young people. It has a large number of stores across the United States. It is basically a mall store (i.e. most of Hot Topic's stores are located in malls).The store caters to young people who are sometimes called rebellious, selling clothes and accessories typically worn by street people, gothics (those who dress in fashion similars to the ones seen at The Craft) and others.
Hot Topic was first opened in 1988, as a music store, owned by Orv Madden.
In the past, such major bands as Korn and Linkin Park have allowed Hot Topic to release their concert wear to the general public before they themselves appear on TV or concerts wearing them.
One of Hot Topic's major rivals is Spencer Gifts.
