The municipality Hole in the county of Buskerud, Norway, has 5,117 inhabitants as of January 1, 2002. It covers 195 km2.

Hole is considered as part of Ringerike, when Ringerike is used about the landscape. Hole is located around lake Tyrifjorden and extends to the wooodland around Oslo. Hole includes a lot of historical places, like some old churches. It also includes Stein farm, which is connected with the small king Halfdan the Black. According to the tradition, parts of his body was buried in the mound there.
