Student Life

Since the late 1990's, the administration and the Hamilton trustees have worked together to eliminate underage drinking and binge drinking. Many fraternities and sororities have been "kicked off campus" and posters adorn residence-hall walls informing students of the dangers of alcoholism. Resident Advisors are the foot-soldiers of this campaign.

To make up for the lack of night-life, the administration brings in entertainment shows on a weekly bases, sponsors movie-night, and plans non-alcoholic parties.

Ethnic diversity is an ongoing struggle for the college. Although the administration incessantly advertises its desire to recruit more black and latino students, the school remains less diverse than other NESCAC schools.
