Hamad bin Khalifa

Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani is the current emir (ruler) of Qatar. He deposed his father, Emir Sheik Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, in 1995 and has taken drastic steps to modernize the country.
