Graptolite
Graptolites (Graptolita) are colonial animals known chiefly from the Upper Cambrian through the Mississippian (Lower Carboniferous). Possibly hemichordates. A possible graptolite, Chaunograptus, is known from the Middle Cambrian. One surviving species is known: Cephalodiscus graptolitoides was dredged up from the sea around the New Caledonian islet of Lifou in 1989, resurrecting the group after 300 million years of 'official' extinction.
