Giga

Giga (symbol: G) is a prefix in the SI system of units denoting a billion, which is equal to 10⁹, or 1,000,000,000.

In computer science a giga can sometimes mean 1,073,741,824 (2³⁰), instead of 1,000,000,000, especially when used to prefix the bit or byte, giving a gigabit or gigabyte.
