Gamay

Gamay has at least three different vitis vinifera grape species: Gamay Noir, Gamay Beaujolais and Napa Gamay. In the USA it is permitted to use the term Gamay as their label-specified variety. At one time or another each one was thought to be the true Pinot Noir variety of Burgundy before it was determined that many cepage] clones existed.
