From Russia with Love

From Russia With Love is a 1963 film based on the Ian Fleming novel of the same name. The second film in the James Bond series, it stars Sean Connery as British Secret Service agent Commander James Bond.

From Russia with Love tells of a series of elaborate plots and counterplots between British and Russian intelligence agencies. The film is notable for introducing "Q," a character Desmond Llewellyn would play in nearly all of the Bond films until his death in 1999. The cast also includes Robert Shaw, perhaps best known as Quint in Steven Spielberg's Jaws (1975), Daniela Bianchi, Pedro Armendáriz, Lotte Lenya and Bernard Lee. Lenya's character, Rosa Klebb, is often cited as the prototype for the Frau Farbissina character in the Austin Powers series of movies.

From Russia With Love was adapted by Johanna Harwood and Richard Maibaum, and was directed by Terence Young.
