Friuli-Venezia Giulia

With an area of 7844 sq km and 1.18 million inhabitants, Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Slovene Furlanija-Julijska krajina) is an autonomous region of north-eastern Italy, bordering on the regions of Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige, the republics of Austria and Slovenia and the Adriatic Sea. The principal cities are Trieste, Slovene Trst (pop. 210,000) and Udine (95,000).
