Fried rice

Fried rice is a popular component of Asian cuisine.

Recipe for fried rice

3 cups of cooked white rice 2 cups chopped carrots 2 scrambled eggs 4-5 cloves of garlic 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes Soy sauce

Other suggested ingredients include: celery, peas, and ham. Chicken works too, but ham is preferable.

Cook in a wok big enough to hold all the ingredients (A large boiling pot when cooking larger batches). You want the wok to be as hot as it can be.

  1. Put about 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in the wok then add in the garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook till the oil starts to absorbs the red pepper and turns slightly brown.
  2. Add the ingreadients you are using and the white rice. Start stirring it until the ingreadients are amply mixed with the white rice.
  3. Sprinkle in a tablespoon of black pepper and some soy sauce. How much soy sauce you use if any, is up to your discretion. I usually cook in enough to give the rice color and add more when I am eating the fried rice.
  4. Fry the rice to your discretion, if the wok doesn't get hot enough to burn the rice it doesn't make much of a difference how long you fry it. Let it cool and enjoy it....

With 3 cups of rice, the recipe feeds two starving college students...

There are plenty of ways to tweak the recipe to your liking.... Enjoy!
