Fleabane
Fleabanes are members of the genus Erigeron in the Asteraceae Family. They are mostly characterized by numerous white lavender or pink ray flowers and yellow disk flowers. Some members of this group have no ray flowers. The common name is derived from the belief that the dried plants repelled fleas. Most of the species in this group are strictly North American, although E. strigosus has become a weed in Europe. Others have been developed as horticultural varieties.
