Flag of Spain

The flag of Spain was adopted on December 19, 1981. It is also seen in a variant without the coat of arms. The flag is similar to those used between 1785 and 1931 as the War Ensign and for other purposes. It is a historical succesor to the flag used by Franco's regime.
