Field
In ordinary English, a field is an open land area.
The term field can also refer to:
- Field (mathematics) - an algebraic structure in which one can add, subtract, multiply and divide, similar to the real numbers.
- Field (physics) - an assignment of a quantity to every point of space. This is the also the meaning used in vector calculus. Types of fields that occur in nature include:
- field (computer science) - one part, usually named, of multipart data. Databases and programming languages use fields when working with composite data.
