Epson

Epson is one of the largest manufacturers of computer printers in the world. Established in 1961 in Suwa, Nagano as a division of Seiko, providing them with precision parts for their watches, the company eventually parlayed their knowledge of intricate parts to building printers, initially for electronic calculators and then later for computers. Epson America was founded in 1975 in Torrance, California.
Epson released their first dot matrix printer, the TX-80 in 1978. Its successor, the MX-80, was introduced in 1980 and was the best-selling printer in the United States at the time.
