Dr. Hook is a pop-country rock band formed in 1968 in New Jersey, and most popular throughout the 1970s. The band name is a reference to Captain Hook from Peter Pan, as band member Ray Sawyer had an eye-patch (he had lost his eye in a car accident).

Band members include Dennis Locorriere, Ray Sawyer, George Cummings, Billy Francis and Jay David.
