DirecTV Group Inc. is an American direct broadcast satellite television company formerly known as Hughes Electronics. Its stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "DTV."

The company was founded as a aircraft manufacturer by Howard Hughes, who later sold it to General Motors. The corporation sold its commercial satellite manufacturing business to Boeing in 2000. The remainder of the company is managed by Fox Entertainment Group since News Corporation bought controlling interest in the company in December 2003.
