David Rabinowitz

David Rabinowitz (born 1960) is a professor at Yale University researching the Kuiper belt and the outer solar system.

Along with Mike Brown and Chad Trujillo he has discovered trans-Neptunian objects, among them:

• 2004 DW - possibly the largest Kuiper Belt object after Pluto
• Sedna - thought to be the first inner Oort cloud object.

On his own he has discovered other astronomical objects:

• 5145 Pholus
