Born on July 17th 1945 at Claridge's Hotel in London (declared Yugoslav territory for the event) Crown Prince Alexander is the son of King Peter II and Queen Alexandra (born a Princess of Greece and Denmark) He was educated at Gordonstoun, Institute Le Rosey and Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

He was married to Princess Maria da Gloria of Orleans-Braganca in London from 1972 to 1985, the couple had three sons, Hereditary Prince Peter (b. 1980); and twins Princes Alexander and Philip, (b. 1982) and is currently married to Katherine Clairy Bastis.
