Credit score
A
credit score is a numerical reputation of an individual's financial
creditworthiness, used by lenders to determine whether they should lend money to a person, and if so, at what
interest rate. One of the best known credit scores in the
United States is the FICO score, calculated according to mathematical formulas created by
Fair Isaac Corporation by the three major credit reporting agencies, Equifax (who calls it BEACONÃÂî),
Experian (who calls it the Experian/Fair Isaac Risk Score), and Trans Union (who calls it EMPIRICAÃÂî).
