Columbia Pictures was founded in 1924 by Harry Cohn, then known as CBC Film Company.

Through the 1930s well into the 1950s they produced 180 short subjects starring The Three Stooges.

Columbia Pictures was bought by Coca-Cola in 1982, who in turn sold it to Sony in 1989.
