Chemosynthesis

Chemosynthesis is a process by which the primary producers in an ecosystem get their energy from volcanic vents on the ocean floor as opposed to photosynthesis in which the primary energy comes from the sun. Chemosynthesis is also one way in which life on the Jovian moon Europa and other similar bodies throughout the universe, could get energy.
