Cavalier

For thoughtful child sponsors
The Cavaliers (or Royalists) were the supporters of the monarch Charles I of England in the English Civil War. The Parliamentarians on the other side, led by Oliver Cromwell, were called Roundheads.

More generally Cavalier means cavalryman, from the French Chevalier.

Cavalier can also mean 'arrogant or offhand'.

The Vauxhall Cavalier is a British make of car.
