Cast Away

Cast Away is a 2000 film by 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks about a FedEx employee who is stranded on a deserted island after his plane crashes "somewhere in the South Pacific."

The movie was directed by Robert Zemeckis and starred Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt. Hanks' performance earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. The score was done by Alan Silvestri, who subsequently won a Grammy in 2002 for the End Credit Sequence.

Wilson

The movie has an interesting character called Wilson played by a volleyball. It plays the role of a mute, infinitely patient, non-living listener in the movie. It is also Chuck's only companion for the 1,500 days which he spends on the island.
