The Right Honourable Bora Laskin (October 5, 1912March 17, 1984) was a Canadian jurist, who served on the Supreme Court of Canada for fourteen years, including a decade as its Chief Justice.

Born in Fort William, Ontario, Laskin was educated at the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Law School. From 1933 to 1936, he served his articles and continued to study at the University of Toronto. He received the degrees of M.A in 1935 and LL.B in 1936. In 1937, he received an LL.M from Harvard Law School.

From 1940 to 1965 he taught at the University of Toronto (except for the period 1945 - 1949 when he taught at Osgoode Hall). For twenty-three years he served as associate editor of Dominion Law Reports and Canadian Criminal Cases. He also wrote Canadian Constitutional Law and many other legal texts.

His career on the bench began in 1965 with his appointment to the Ontario Court of Appeal. On March 19, 1970 he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada. He was appointed its Chief Justice on December 27, 1973, a position he held until his death in 1984.
