Berklee College of Music, founded in 1945, is an independent music college in Boston, Massachusetts with many prominent faculty, staff, alumni, and visiting artists. It has an enrollment of approximately 3,400 students and a faculty of approximately 430. Tuition was $17,390 for the 2001-2002 academic year. The original curriculum at Berklee, originally named the Schillinger House after Joseph Schillinger (1895-1943), was founded by Schillinger student Lawrence Berk, was greatly influenced by Schillinger system.
