Battle of Legnica

The battle of Legnica took place in 1241 near the city of Legnica between the invading Mongols or Tartars of Golden Horde and the Poles under Henry II the Pious, duke of Poland, supported by the feudal nobility including the Teutonic Knights.

The battle was won by the Tartars, but they had to withdraw from Poland to the east.
