The Barwon River in Victoria which rises in the Otway Ranges runs through Geelong, and enters the sea at Barwon Heads, west of Port Philip Bay.
The Barwon River in New South Wales, between the Macintyre River and Gwydir River, which forms a section of the border with Queensland. The name is derived from the aboriginal word meaning wide stream.
