Academia
The term academia or academe refers to the aggregation of post-secondary learning and research institutions, especially universities. The term is descended from Plato's Academy, and academia is occasionally referred to as "the academy", suggesting that today's universities are a continuation of the very same institution that Plato founded.See also: academic
