A Chorus Line
A Chorus Line is a Broadway musical written by Michael Bennett, with music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban, from a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante. It was first performed on April 16, 1976.The setting is a theatre on Broadway. Young hopefuls are auditioning for a part in the chorus line of a musical. The musical gives a glimpse into the various personalities of the performers and the choreographer. Highlights of the show include "One" and "What I did for Love."
"A Chorus Line" dominated the Tony Awards in 1975, winning almost every award given for a Broadway musical, include best musical, best actress, best actor, best director, best score, best lighting, and best choreographer.
In 1985, "A Chorus Line" was made into a movie. The movie starred Michael Douglas.
